‘Nepal, Odemira’ is a photographic and research project centered on the issues of migration and its territories, with a focus on the Nepalese community living in Odemira (in the south of Portugal) – the foreign community that has grown the most (in percentage terms) in the country in recent years, and a population that came mainly to meet the labour shortage found in the intensive crop farming that thrives in the region.
The diptychs ‘The harvester and Dev S., 2020-2022’ parallel photographs taken by the author and texts taken from articles published in Portuguese and Nepali newspapers between 2020 and 2021.
