‘Nepal, Odemira’ is a photographic and research project centered on the issues of migration and its territories, with a focus on the Nepalese community living in Odemira (in the south of Portugal) – the foreign community that has grown the most (in percentage terms) in the country in recent years, and a population that came mainly to meet the labour shortage found in the intensive crop farming that thrives in the region.

The work combines phrases taken from articles published in Portuguese and Nepalese newspapers between 2020 and 2021.
