Veiled Landscape

(2013-2016)

Veiled Landscape seeks to explore the emotional side of empty spaces. The project investigates the atmospheres created by the desertion of certain buildings, now defined by vacuum and silence. If places derive significance by their population by men and their objects, in these locations the void space is the protagonist. The spaces persist outside of time, and the external world only occasionally interrupts through remote noises. The architecture becomes landscape, expressing its timelessness. Panoramas of indefinite meaning and identity, structures abandoned to their own materiality. These spaces are now populated with an uncertainty, which is revealed as simultaneously mesmerizing and disconcerting.
